Indian Premier League hits off at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore

After crores were spent on buying and selling stars, and after threatening posture of media to boycott the event and what not... The Indian Premier League alos called the DLF IPL is starting today at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. The Chinnaswamy Stadium is witnessing this gala event with a show between  Saurav's Team and Dravid's team. A lot of fireworks are expected. A brand new blog in Hindi promises to bring analysis on the league. Blog by Pankaj Srivastav called Cricket Fever is not new as a blog but the League promises to be a content mine for it. We being the blog reporter will keep tracking the views to you. For now Pankaj terms the League, quite a 'civil war' (for Griha Yudh-Bad translation but inteded to add pun) :)

अगर दादा और द्रविड की टीमों का आंकलन किया जाए तो दादा की टीम भारी नज़र आ रही है...सौरव गांगुली की टीम से अगर शोएब अख्तर बाहर हो चुके हैं तो द्रविड की टीम से मिश्बह अनफिट होने के कारण पहला मैच नहीं खेल पाएंगे...और जम्बो भी अभी पूरी तरह से फिट नहीं है...जो पहले मैच में उपलब्ध नहीं रहेंगे...ऐसे में द्रविड की मुश्किलें यहाँ भी बड़ी हैं...

But forget cricket (there isn't much cricket in IPL), its going to be a an entertaing event rather. Cricinfo informs:

More than a decade after Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins sang to us of a Bullet with Butterfly Wings, the IPL's first venue will witness stilt-walkers striding round the ground flapping flowing capes that feature the home team colours, red and yellow. Under lights, they're likely to look like gigantic butterflies straight out of a scene from Pan's Labyrinth.
